Session 4: Biostatistics

Description

The Clifford Craig Foundation hosts a six-week beginners research course about planning and conducting clinical investigations in the Tasmanian Health Service.

The course is aimed at North/LGH staff interested in research across nursing, allied health, pharmacy and medical specialties.

Outcomes

  • An appreciation of why and how health professionals can be actively involved in research
  • An introduction to major reserach methods (quantitative and qualitative), study design, introduction to biostatistics and data management
  • Information and practice at preparing a research protocol and writing an ethics application
  • The process of having research published
